DESCRIPTION
Since their launch in 2014, more than 130 EN 18 locomotives have sold. They are reliable both in shunting and line operation. At speeds between 17 and 120 km/h, the de 18 has a continuous power of 1,800 kw which means it is currently most powerful centre-cab locomotive on the line.
There are cross-border traffic variants with multi-country equipment, with the de 18 currently equipped with four national train safety systems, so the locomotives are used at German railway companies such as RheinCargo and RailAdventure and foreign operators like CFL, Europorte and SNCF.
